Ferencs Kovacs continues to find his form.
The Woodberry Forest (VA) sophomore -- a European exchange student from Hungary -- ran the fastest true indoor 1,600m on Saturday at the Bulldog Invitational in Lynchburg, Virginia, clocking a time of 4:12.14. Currently, it stands as a U.S. No. 2 performance at the distance.
What's more, it was the first 1,600m race of his high school career. It also followed a U.S. No. 4 effort in the 1K from a dual meet.
But he wasn't alone, either.
Following closely behind was Loudoun Valley senior Graham Mussmon, who covered a move at 800m by Kovacs and held on for a U.S. No. 6 time of 4:14.63.
