VIRGINIA BEACH, VIRGINIA -- The first day of The VA Showcase consisted of breathtaking performances.
One of those moments came from Brandon Pottinger.
The senior from Miami, Florida entered the meet with a personal best of 6 feet, 10 inches in the high jump from last year's VA Showcase. This time around, he rewrote his own record book.
In the middle of the track, Pottinger had the crowd on its feet as he cleared 7-0 and became the first boy thus far to reach the height.
His performances moved him into the top 50 all-time in the event.
