Jaiya Covington didn't necessarily have the best start.
But by hurdle four on Saturday at the Texas A&M Indoor Classic in College Station, Texas, she figured things out, sweeping past Katy Mayde Creek's (TX) Simone Ballard to win the 60mH final in a U.S. No. 4 time of 8.51 seconds.
Ballard followed in second in 8.53 seconds while Kaycee McCoy was third and Chelsi Williams was fourth.
Covington, a Texas A&M signee from Aldine Eisenhower (TX), has now run 8.60, 8.59, 8.73 and 8.51 to begin her season in the 60mH.
