This weekend, fresh off an All-American performance at the Eastbay Cross Country Championships, William Floyd freshman Zariel Macchia won the 1K at the Bishop Loughlin Games in Staten Island, New York.
Macchia became the ninth girls runner to go under three minutes on the season, recording a U.S. No. 2 time of 2:57.30.
Macchia finished 12th at the Eastbay Championships on Dec. 11.
