SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA -- One day ahead of the Eastbay Cross Country Championships, national championship qualifiers arrived at Morley Field on Friday morning to get their first looks at the Balboa Park course and scout out potential race points and strategies.
MileSplit's Olivia Ekpone met with various athletes and coaches to talk their hopes, ambitions and fears heading into the final cross country meet of the calendar.

Championship races on Saturday will feature 40 boys and 40 girls from four regions in the United States: Northeast, South, Midwest and South. Regional qualifiers took place on Nov. 27 and Dec. 4, with 10 individuals from each race gaining automatic acceptance into the Eastbay Cross Country Championships.
