HUNTSVILLE, ALABAMA -- Led by one of the nation's deepest teams, the MileSplit50 No. 3 ranked Niwot (CO) girls claimed their first national title on Saturday at the Garmin RunningLane Cross Country Championships, following up the team's performance last year and culminating a season that saw the Colorado team devastate opponents across various performances in 2021.
All seven Cougars covered the 5K distance at John Hunt Park in under 18 minutes, including seventh-place finish Eva Klingbeil, the reigning CHSA Class 4A champion.
Klingbeil finished in the top 10, securing an overall time of 16:44.69.
Meanwhile, Niwot scored its next four runners inside the top 73 places and saw an overall compression of just 57 seconds.
