Before you know it, cross country nationals will be here.
And right now, we are three weeks way from the Garmin RunningLane Cross Country Championships, the de facto team national championship in 2021.
No race will have as much firepower, as much gusto, or as much hard-lined racing as the one planned for Dec. 4 at John Hunt Park in Huntsville, Alabama.
If teams who are qualified for the gold race -- based on time requirements -- entered before the meet deadline for sponsored uniforms, they will receive custom-kits featuring these four regions: Pacific, Eastern, Mountain and Central.
We have no doubt this race will be epic.
The nation's top teams are already lining up for a winner-takes-all championship.
On the boys side, here are the programs set for the gold race on the most recent MileSplit50 rankings: No. 1 Newbury Park, No. 2 Cheyenne Mountain, No. 4 Niwot, No. 7 American Fork, No. 9 Mountain Vista, No. 10 Valor Christian, No. 16 Lincoln and No. 17 Central Catholic, among others.
The girls race will feature No. 1 Niwot, No. 3 Arapahoe, No. 4 Cherry Creek, No. 6 Buchanan, No. 8 Newbury Park and No. 11 American Fork.
The registration process is still ongoing and will close on the above-mentioned dates.
