Portland Jesuit Dominates Over Pacific Northwest Competition
If the Portland Jesuit boys or girls teams needed a big test, they got it on Saturday at the Nike Hole in the Wall Invitational.
Whether it was Washington's top team in 2021, Bishop Blanchet, or Jesuit's crosstown rival Portland Franklin, or even in-state contender Sherwood, the meet featured some of the top talent from the Pacific Northwest.
Jesuit didn't let up.
The Portland-based squad printed out a 51-point winning margin over its top competitor, Bishop Blanchet, netting 67 points overall as three runners finished inside the top 20. Junior Jacob Nenow leading the way in fourth.
Sherwood's James Crabtree outdueled Franklin's Charlie North up top, winning with a time of 14:45.5. North followed in second in 14:54.9, while Bishop Blanchet's William Schneider was third in 14:54.9.
The girls race followed a nearly identical blueprint, posting 68 points to win by a considerable margin over Tahoma (158).
Senior Chloe Foerster, a veteran stalwart at this point, won the overall race in 17:01.1, while Franklin's Kaiya Robertson was second in 17:13.4. Bellarmine Prep's Ella Borsheim, who recently committed to the University of Washington, was third in 17:14.5.
