Academy High School (CO) sophomore Bethany Michalak holds the fastest sophomore 5K time in the nation with her 17:00.40 performance at the Liberty Bell Cross Country Invitational.
Her time also ranks seventh nationally among all grades. Michalak also won the Cheyenne Mountain Stampede (Pre-State) earlier in September.
Her best speed rating is a 146 from Liberty Bell; that's the second-best speed rating for any sophomore.
