Last year felt like Yin and Yang for the Stanford cross country program: On one hand, it seemed like the women's best chance of claiming a cross country national title, while on the other, most would have projected the Stanford men to struggle. 

The Cardinal women sported a lethal group of low-stick scorers and a supporting cast that was good enough to put this team amongst the other title contenders. But things didn't exactly work out as planned, as the program settled for third at NCAAs.

Then the Stanford men went out and surprised everyone.
