The goal was set, and Pearland Express Track Club executed.
The Texas-based club put together the fastest boys 4x800 relay of the AAU Junior Olympic Games this past Friday with a winning time of 7:58.54.
Despite facing a first leg deficit to eventual second-place finisher Hot Feet (Shawnee, KS), the Pearland club -- which consisted of Pedro Cardenas, Noah Haileab, Nasir Starks and Nicholas Rodriguez -- came back strong in the second leg behind the work of Haileab (1:57), and then the squad finished things from there, using a 2:03-split from Starks and then another 1:57 leg from Rodriguez to claim victory.
