At the 2018 AAU Junior Olympic Games in Des Moines, Iowa, O'Fallon, Missouri's Brandon Miller claimed his sixth AAU Junior Olympic Games 1500m national title.
Miller, now a rising sophomore at Texas A&M University, broke Jim Jennings' record of 3:59.20, which was set back in 1980. Miller soloed a 3:58.10 to take the win. Miller then went on to run 1:50.14 in the 800m later that week. He just barely missed beating his own 15-16-year-old boys 800m National record time of 1:49.87 which he had set the year prior in 2017.
