St. Thomas Aquinas senior Alexis Glasco was on a mission Saturday in the 300mH.
The Coastal Carolina recruit secured a US No. 1 and Florida all-time No. 1 performance of 40.28 seconds at the FHSAA Region Class 4A-4 Championships in Miami, securing her ticket to the Florida State Championships on May 8.
The race featured the country's top long hurdlers, as US No. 2 athlete Amanda Kinloch was second in 41.31, while Glasco's teammate and US No. 3 Eddiyah Frye was third in 42.42.
Glasco's performance was stunning, as it surpassed the state's all-time record of 40.28, which was set by Miami Northwestern graduate Markalah Hart in 2017 at the Florida State Championships.
It's now No. 8 all-time on the 300mH rankings in high school history as well.
Beyond the 300mH, Glasco also qualified for the Florida State Championships in both the 100m and 100mH.
