The boys 1600m at the Cape Coast Conference meet in Satellite Beach, Florida had an exciting finish on Friday.
Coming into the bell lap there was a pack of four guys, Astronaut High School's Simon DeVoss was amongst three Satellite High School (FL) athletes; Gabriel Montague, Josh Stern, and Joe Wester.
Stern made the first move with 300 meters to go, but by 200 meters to go, he was overtaken by Montague and Wester. With 100 meters to go Wester used his 1:53 800m speed to open up a gap on the other three guys.
The group closed at 2:02 after going through the half in around 2:16. The team from Satellite High School really showed off its depth at the distance with four guys running sub 4:30.
