Korbin Martino Authors Outdoor 400m Opener, Goes US No. 5

Korbin Martino's first opportunity at an outdoor 400m on Saturday went about as smoothly as he could have predicted.

The Canal Winchester senior and Penn State signee was impressive at the Stingel Invitational in Pickerington (OH), riding to the line in a US No. 5 time of 47.31.

The performance, which came after previous efforts at the 100m and 200m earlier this spring, signaled the adidas Indoor Nationals runner-up is ready to challenge his outdoor PR of 47.16, which came in 2019 when he was a sophomore.

Martino ran 47.34 indoors at the Ohio Indoor State Championships, registering the top time in the country for the indoor season.
