L.C. Bird's (VA) Jayson Ward posted a strong 500m time of 1:03.43 seconds at the VHSL Class 5 State Indoor Championships on March 2. His teammate, senior, Matthew Spicer ran 1:06.35 to place second.
Spicer's time was the third-fastest of the weekend, just behind Jack Daly, who won the Class 6A state title in 1:05.35 for Patriot.
