Athletes to Watch: Jada Roundtree (MI), Leeah Burr (MI), Hali Murphy (TX)

A rematch will be underway in the girls 400m as the fastest and second-fastest girls in the country will face off against each other for the second weekend in a row.

At the LAB #4 meet, Jada Roundtree of Oak Park (MI) and Leeah Burr (MI) of Detroit Renaissance will contest once again at the national level.

Roundtree finished the race as the first girl to break 54 seconds this year with a 53.55. Burr became the second sprinter with a final time of 53.93 from the same meet.

Leading up the weekend, Roundtree's fastest time was 54.85, and for Burr, it was a 55.61. These two won't be the only girls who will be contesting for the title, as the field should not underestimate the speed and strength of Hali Murphy of St. Dominic Savio Catholic (TX).

The Texan will have an advantage here. She ran on this track back in January at The VA Showcase and sprinted to a US No. 1 in the 300m with a 38.93.

Murphy ran a personal best of 54.70 at the SPIRE Scholastic Showcase at the beginning of February. Murphy has raced four 400m races this season and all of them have been under 57 seconds.

Other athletes in the field that can sneak up onto the podium who are ranked within the top 20 in the nation are Aaliyah Pyatt, Hannah Douglas and Sanaa Hebron.
