Birmingham Seaholm's (MI) Audrey Dadamio had a record-setting day on Sunday in Geneva, Ohio.
The Michigan native did a host of things at the SPIRE Scholastic Showcase: She set a new US No. 1 mark, broke the SPIRE Institute facility record, and culminated with a new Michigan state indoor 1,600m record.
The Stanford recruit clocked a nation-leading time of 4:40.65 to win the race by five seconds over Indiana's Addy Wiley (4:45.77). The record time surpassed Zofia Dudek's time of 4:41.85 from the MITS - SVSU #5 meet last February. The two will be teammates at Stanford.
This is the second record for Dadamio in a series of weeks. Earlier, she broke Erin Finn's eight-year-old 3,200m record of 10:08.24, doing so at The 757 Showdown by less than a second in 10:07.46.
