It's still early in the 2020-2021 indoor season, and many runners have yet to race, but we wanted to see which athletes are the fastest at the combined 400m and 800m distances so far.
On the boys side, Parker Buchheit of Harrison (GA) High School debuted with lifetime bests in both events at the VA Beach Club Opener. A week later at the Galleria Games, he shaved 0.01 seconds off his mark in the 800m. In early December, Isaiah Schulties of Kent Island (MD) High School competed in both the 400m and 800m at the VA Beach Club Opener as well. Schulties set personal bests in both events.
Spain Park (AL) junior Mackenzie Culpepper, meanwhile, ran her fastest time of the season a week apart from one another. She shaved 1.5 seconds off her personal best in the 400m at the Magic City Invitational at the beginning of December. A week later, she cut five seconds off her...
