When the gun went off for the Lubbock Christian Uniersity High School National Invite in December, the stakes were immediately clear: It was going to be a race between Denton Guyer's (TX) Brynn Brown and Rawlin's (WY) Sydney Thorvaldson.
The Arkansas signee came through the first mile close to 5:00 flat and maintained pressure before crossing the finish line in 16:23.85, about 27 seconds ahead of Brown.
In this race, there were six girls who broke 18 minutes on the 5K course.
