Olympia Track Club and Fort Myers Dunbar High School senior Leonard Mustari clocked the nation's leading 60 meter hurdles mark at The Galleria Games on Satuday in Birmingham, Alabama.
Taking the race from the gun, the Florida native clocked a 7.78 to set a new meet record as well as a US No. 1 time. The previous record of 7.95 was held by Deanthony Coleman and was set in 2018.
This was Mustari's season-opening race. His previous PR, from which he set during the 2020 indoor season, was a 7.89 from the Mondo Elite HS Invitational at the end of January.
Over the weekend Mustari also competed in the long jump, where he cleared 23 feet, 4 inches. That mark was just under his PR of 23-6.25. Watch Mustari's 60mH race above and check out more from the Galleria Games in the links below.
