Annika Zuschlag (Boise Senior, ID)
Throughout the year, the junior progressed into the team's fifth runner. At the first meet of the year she was the team's 11th runner; the next, the team's eighth runner. By mid October, she had taken on a scoring roll, even placing as high as third for her team at the Idaho District 3 5A Championships.
At the Idaho Class 5A State Championships, Zuschlag placed seventh overall, running a 18:59.20. She helped to keep the team's average to below 18:30 and put all of the team's scoring five in the top 10. Boise won the state meet scoring 18 points.
Boise Senior is the nation's top-ranked team based on team scores. Zuschlag helped to contribute to that.
