Claire Semerod (Cherry Creek, CO)
Cherry Creek was our No. 1 girls team at the end of the season -- and the Bruins wouldn't have been there without the help of Semerod. Over the past five meets the junior has posted five speed ratings all over 100.
She helped Cherry Creek earn its Colorado Class 5A state title with strong runs through the state meet series. At the Colorado 5A Region 1 Cross Country Championships, Semerod placed 12th overall and helped give Cherry Creek the 4-point edge over Arapahoe, 36-40.
The same thing happened at the state meet Semerod was again able to pull out a strong run finishing 18th overall and 15th in team scoring.
In the post season she helped push her team to wins at the Colorado Classic XC Meet and the XC Town USA Meet of Champions. With Semerod's help this team had an overall season speed rating average of 131.2.
