LAS VEGAS, NEVADA -- Alamosa (CO) High School graduate Ian Jackson earned the AAU West Coast Junior Olympic Games Championship in the boys' 17-18 division on Saturday, posting the day's fastest effort of 49.88 seconds.
Out of Lane 8.
The Coloradoan, who won a Class 3A state championship in the 400m as a junior in 2019 -- in 48.97 -- staved off hot temperatures and an hour-plus delay win over a talented field.
Eastview's (MN) AJ Green was the only other runner under 50 seconds on the day, going 49.96.
