AJ Green Tested, Wins Battle At The Line At Texas Meet

AUSTIN, TEXAS -- Eastview (MN) High School graduate and University of Kansas signee AJ Green won a tight battle at the line in the boys 800m at the Leander Spartans Invitational on Saturday at Old Panther Stadium, using a last ditch kick to beat San Antonio East Central's Terry Robinson in 1:52.62.

Taking out the pace early, Green came through the 400 meter mark in 54 seconds along with Robinson and Santos Flores. But when Green tried to separate at the 500 meter mark, Robinson followed.

It wasn't until the final moments, when Robinson put in one last move, when Green finally sealed his victory in the final stages.

Robinson finished in a time of 1:52.66, while Flores was third in 1:57.87.
