AUSTIN, TEXAS -- Boerne Champion (TX) High School rising junior Anastacia Gonzales took command of the girls 800m at the Leander Spartans Invitational on Saturday at Old Panther Stadium, rolling out to a dominant 400m en route to a near PR finish of 2:10.11.
Gonzales, who authored a time of 2:10.04 in February and was fourth in the UIL Class 5A 800m final in 2019 as a freshman, hit her 400 meter split in roughly 60 seconds.
Later, she came back to post a personal record time of 57.25 seconds in the 400m. That surpassed her top performance of 57.30 seconds from her regional meet a year ago.
