Jamar Marshall's junior year showcased his speed and versatility. He competed in all hurdle events, threw the shot put, long jumped, and sprinted in the 100m. One of his standout performances was when he ran a personal best and hurdled to the nation's fastest time in the 110mH with a 13.22 at the 2019 USATF U20 Outdoor Championships. A few weeks later, he won the USATF Junior Olympic Track and Field Championships with a time of 13.57.
In addition to running the country's fastest time in the 110mH, sixth-fastest time in the 300mH and earning national titles, the St. Mary's Stockton's (CA) graduate won his first state title at the CIF Championships last year.
Marshall set his blocks in lane five in the evergreen uniform top. The gun went off and he approached the first hurdle with some speed. By the time he cleared the second hurdle, Marshall had a slight lead and two hurdles later he was clear of the field. He crossed the finish line as a state champion in 13.31w (3.3), the fastest all-conditions time in meet history.
Marshall will attend Arizona State in the fall.
