        Now that Highland Highschool's (AZ) Leo Daschbach has become the 11th high school boy to run sub-4 in the mile, we decided to take a look at which high schoolers could have a shot at running a sub-4 in the next few years. We did this by looking at a few different factors, including prior performances and what kind of meets these early races were. Let's dive in.

        The best place to start is by taking a look at the guys who have already completed the feat of the sub-4-minute mile as a high school athlete. The first was the great Jim Ryun back in 1964 when he ran 3:59.0. He then proceeded to run 3:55.30 at the AAU Track & Field Championship a year later, followed by four other sub-4 efforts that same year.
