Track and field fans are used to seeing former T.C. Williams (VA) High School's Noah Lyles competing in the 100m and 200m with stylish socks on.
But remember when he ran a 400m at the McNamara Mustangs Invitational in 2016 without starting blocks?
Lyles stepped onto the track with vibrant, neon, tiger striped, knee high socks with on. That shouldn't surprise anyone there. Within the first 200m of the race, Lyles already made up the stagger on the rest of the field. The last 100m seemed effortless for him. He ran his personal best of 47.04 and looked strong doing It.
In 2015 and 2016, Lyles ran the nation's fastest 100m and 200m times of the year. In high school he ran personal bests of 10.07 seconds in the 100m and 20.04 seconds in the 200m.
