In 2015, back when Ryen Frazier was one of the nation's top female distance runners, a date with the Apex Relays was on the Ravenscroft School (NC) athlete's calendar.
And Frazier, who finished second at Foot Locker Nationals that fall, didn't let it go to waste.
The future NC State athlete stayed composed through the first two laps -- she came through the halfway point at 2:25 -- before taking over and and remaining on pace for a new personal record.
Frazier would win in 4:43.22 in a new meet record and what would amount to a US No. 8 time at the end of the season.
