Positioned mano a mano in Lane 5 and Lane 6, Jazlynn Shearer and Jasmine Jones were meant to achieve great things in the 100 meter hurdle final at the Stanford Invitational in 2019.
Very seldom do athletes from two different states go head-to-head in such a talented field -- amid the regular season -- before a national championship race.
But the pair found themselves matched up together a year ago.
While both were equal at the first hurdle, Shearer pulled ahead at the fourth. But by the ninth and 10th, Jones made her move and surged to the line.
Check out the race.
