The Virginia Tech Hokies have been one of the more successful track and field programs in the ACC over the past few years. The program's field athletes and distance runners have often been the focal point of their roster, and it has resulted in numerous conference titles in one of the top conferences in the country.

However, that spotlight on the distance and field events is slowly starting to transition to another area of the team.

The sprints.

A recent driver behind that attention shift? Cameron Rose.

The superstar high school sprinter from Hickory Ridge (NC) High School -- who's ranked No. 20 in MileSplit's Class of 2020 recruiting rankings -- last released in November but set to be updated in March -- has been electric in the shorter distances over the past couple of seasons, specifically this winter.
