It's hard not to be impressed by Texas A&M's 2020 recruiting class.
Between athletes like Athing Mu, Devon Achane, Laila Owens, Brandon Miller and Carter Bajoit -- and so many more -- it's clear the Aggies have gained the signatures of some of the most well-rounded high school track and field athletes in the nation.
However, among this deep group of talent lies a young athlete who is truly the absolute best at his craft.
I am, of course, referring to Sam Hankins.
"I just felt immediately at home," Hankins said when asked about why he chose Texas A&M. "The athletes and coaches there were incredible...I knew they would take me under their wing."
A superstar javelin thrower from Manhattan High School in Kansas, Hankins walked away from his track and field season last spring with a nation-leading mark of 224 feet, 6 inch (68.43 meters). For perspective, that throw was more than a foot ahead of the next best throw (Ty Hampton's 222-11) ...
