Kendall Kramer, a seven-time Alaska state champion across cross country and track and field, earned her biggest honor yet on Jan. 22, swiping bronze at the Winter Youth Olympics in the 5-kilometer race in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Kramer, 17, who boasts a PR of 17:18.70 for 5K on grass -- a school record at Fairbanks West Valley High School (AK) and the second best time ever recorded for a girls athlete in Alaska -- went 14:36.3 in the cross country classic designation, finishing third to Switzerland's Siri Wigger (14:28.4) and Sweden's Maerta Rosenberg (14:15.7).
Kramer was 22nd in the women's sprint free and 14th in the cross country cross free.
