West Valley (AK) High School's Kendall Kramer made a late push to win last week's National Girls Performer of the Week, registering 38-percent of the vote after a career best 5K time of 17:32.99 on September 7 at the Palmer Invitational.
So a big congrats goes out to Kendall, whose season is already in full gear. In fact, she's only a few weeks away from the Alaskan State Championships, which takes place on October 5. A year ago the West Valley senior ran the second fastest time in state history, becoming just the second female to go under 18 minutes on the state course.
All eyes will be on Kramer's encore in 2019.
Now let's move on to Week 2 of our National Girls Performer of the Week poll. This week's voting will cover efforts from September 9th through September 15th.
Vote for whom you think should win this week's national honor following a big week of action. Voting will end Friday, and we'll recognize the winner every Monday during the unveiling of the newest poll.
