There is some uncertainty in the NXN Heartland Region this year with many teams going through what seems to be a bit of a rebuilding stage, but one team that looks like it could contend for a bid to NXN are the guys from Mounds View (MN). Their biggest race this season so far was the St. Olaf High School Showcase, where they took home a win scoring 84 points. The team had a 45-second 1-5 split and a 16:45 average. After the race, the team said they look to close down the gaps even more for a tighter compression. The team's next big meet will be the Milaca Mega Meet on Sept. 21, where we will get a better view of what this team brings to the table. Last year the team finished second to Edina, which will look to give them a challenge again this year at not only the Milaca Mega Meet but also at NXN Heartland and state later on down the road.
