MileSplit50 Boys Team Rankings Countdown

Farmington running at the 2019 Highland Invitational.

25. Farmington (UT)

Analysis: They return everyone from both the "Large School" race at the Nike Southwest Regional and the Utah Class 5A State Championships.

This team could be a shot in the dark as a top-25 team, but on paper, it looks like a strong squad this season. The team was third last year in the Class 5A boys state meet in Utah behind Corner Canyon and Skyridge. They had a 29-second 1-5 split and a 16:30 average. Their speed ratings from that meet were 165, 164, 163, 161, 156, 151, and 146. These speed ratings may be a little behind some of the other top teams in the nation, both this year and historically, but if the team makes improvements this year, watch out for them to make a splash at the NXN Southwest Regional.

Biggest question: Will they have enough experience in high-level competition?

Last year Farmington only attended in-state meets. It had solid competition at those meets but it's not the same as a national-level meet. The closest thing they got to national level competition was when they competed at the Nike Cross Nationals Southwest Regional in the "Large Schools" division.
