No. 7 Naperville North

Analysis: It was a banner year for the Huskies in 2018. The nationally-elite program culminated an incredibly successful year with its best finish at Nike Cross Nationals, placing second overall, and then qualified a senior athlete, Alex Morris, for Foot Locker Nationals, where she was two places shy of All-American status. The good news is that Naperville North remains talented. But the bad is that the team graduated three runners -- Morris, Claire Hill and Megan Driscoll. All isn't lost, though. The Huskies do have plenty of runners capable of making huge steps in 2019 -- the site Tully Runners has the team's returning speed ratings at 130-126-124-114-114, which is a great foundation. The squad has three strong juniors in Campbell Peterson, Maggie Gamboa and Audrey Mendrys, plus sophomore Lucy Westlake. Two more juniors, Molly Morton and Madeline Cody, are looking to make their placement on varsity official. While Downers Grove South and Yorkville may have better returning talent, there's no doubt the Huskies have proven their ability to win on Illinois soil. And really, until someone takes a trophy from Naperville North, it's one that other teams will have to earn. This season will present an opportunity for the new crew of Naperville North to make a statement. 

Biggest question: Can Naperville North fight off talented opposition? 

It's not secret Naperville North is reloading from three graduations. Will the Huskies have enough talent to continue their winning ways against Yorkville and Downers Grove South -- and any other start-ups?
