Analysis: What a year Tori Gaitan had. When the time came for Gaitan to compete in a big moment last fall, she always came prepared and executed to near perfection, grabbing big wins at Mt. SAC, Woodbridge, Clovis and Bob Firman. More than that, Gaitan led Great Oak consistently at the front and buoyed the Wolfpack on the national stage, finishing 18th at Nike Cross Nationals as the program finished eighth overall.
Gaitan's success shouldn't stop there. She's the top returner at both the 3-mile (16:06.10) and 5K distance (17:09.70) in California and once again should be the top athlete in the state. The only question mark remaining, perhaps, on a distinguished resume is where Gaitan will take her talents at the collegiate level. Stay tuned.
