Notable Finishes: 13th at NXN; 1st at NXR Northwest; 1st at Wyoming State Cross Country Championships; 1st at Rawlins Invitational

Analysis: Thorvaldson's career in Wyoming has been nearly perfect thus far. Last year, she added her first regional championship, winning NXR Northwest before going on to secure her second straight All-American performance at Nike Cross Nationals, posting a 13th-place finish. She broke 18 minutes four straight times to end the season and managed to do it five times overall, hitting a PR of 17:24.10 at NXR Northwest. 

Then Thorvaldson went on to claim her sixth, seventh and eight state championships over the spring season in the 800m, 1,600m and 3,200m, including personal bests of 2:17.03 and 5:00.52 in the former two. Expect the Wyoming wonder to continue her trajectory upward in 2019. 

But it won't get any easier to claim a top five finish at NXN, considering the country is as talented as ever. And yet, Thorvaldson certainly has the potential to have a big race come December. She has yet to lose a race on Wyoming soil since 2014. According to our database, that's 20 races ...and counting.
