No. 13 Lauren Ping

Notable Finishes: 14th at NXN; 3rd at NXR Heartland; 2nd at MSHSL State Cross Country Championships; 4th at Roy Griak Invitational

Analysis: Ping is a seasoned veteran at this point. With her seventh- and eighth-grade years as primers for her high school career, she had no shortage of success, earning back-to-back Nike Cross Nationals All-American performances in Portland, Oregon. Like her sister, Grace, she's headed toward some greater races in 2019.

Tellingly, Lauren only got better as the season wore on in 2018, going under 18 minutes in three consecutive performances to end the season, including her runner-up finish at state -- behind Grace -- her third-place finish at NXR Heartland and her 14th-place finish at NXN. 

In the spring, however, Lauren continued to progress, hitting 4:50.64 on the clock in the 1,600m and 10:23.28 in the full two-mile. Ping's late season successes indicated that she prepared herself fully for championship season and never missed the beat. She's hoping for more successes in 2019.
