No. 1 Katelyn Tuohy

Analysis: Tuohy will culminate her high school cross country career in 2019. And what a career it's been. Last season she set an all-time high school best for a girl in the 5K on grass, going 16:06.87, and it was part of five efforts under 17 minutes in 2018. She won her second straight Class A state cross country championship in New York, earned a win at NXR New York, and then lowered her career- and meet-record best at Nike Cross Nationals, finishing in 16:37.80. She earned the top overall speed rating of 2019 with a 177 -- and it was one of the best ratings ever recorded. 

There wasn't much that Tuohy couldn't do in 2018. She won nine straight races -- she's currently on a 20-race win streak -- in commanding fashion. About the only thing left for Tuohy to accomplish is bringing North Rockland back to NXN as a team -- something the Red Raiders were able to do in 2016, back when Tuohy was an eighth-grader. If Tuohy qualifies for NXN yet again -- and this seems about as surefire as anything -- then it would mark five appearances at the national meet for the New York Star. And if she finishes in the top 22, it would make it four straight All-American finishes -- something very few girls have accomplished, either.
