The 2019 Eastern Relays 800m had a crazy kick for the win.
The leader at the bell was Caleb Futter of the Christian Academy of Indiana. Futter took to the lead with the pack on his heels. After the first lap, Futter started to get sucked back into the pack. Along the final back stretch, it looked like it was going to be a battle between about seven different guys in the last 200 meters of the race.
With 150 meters to go Winfield's (KY) Aaron Withrow looked to be the guy who was separating from the pack and pushing towards the finish for the win. But then coming all the way back from fifth place was
Futter. He came barreling down the track in lane two to pass Withrow int the final stretch of the race.
Futter won in 1:58.21, while Fairfield-Leesburg's (OH) Brandtson Duffie slipped in for second place (1:58.49) and Winfield's Aaron Withrow finished in third (1:58.54).
