AUSTIN, TEXAS -- Stafford (Fredericksburg, VA) High School senior Gennifer Hirata won the 2019 edition of the elite girls pole vault at the Texas Relays on Friday. Interestingly, she waved off a slow clap from the crowd, and then clinched her first vault over 14-feet on her third attempt at the height. It was the winning moment.
