1. Nicholas Ramey In The 200 (And 400)
- - -
Brookwood's star is back on the track for 2019.
The University of Southern California signee was getting over a cold, so his 21.92 second preliminary time in the 200m wasn't his best effort, and his 22.09 finals performance gave him a third-place outing.
But the greater point is Ramey's motion toward the beginning of his season.
Ramey's clearly a talent that will have much better days in 2019. He was one of the country's top 400m runners as a junior in 2018 -- with a US No. 7 best of 46.20 seconds -- and he's coming off an experience competing for the USA Juniors at the U20 Championships in Finland last summer -- as well as a bronze-medal effort at the World Youth Olympics, which put his training a little out of rhythm.
Ramey has the potential to break 21 seconds and 46 seconds in the 200m/400m (see examples below). So this effort was the start of something larger in 2019.
