Six Races From Gwinnett's County Meet To Take Stock In

2. Alexa Rossum In The 100 (And 200)

- - -

Perhaps no girl from Georgia made a bigger statement this indoor season than Rossum.

The Stanford-bound sprinter put down career bests and national-level marks in the 60m (7.40) and 200m (23.86) en route to an eighth-place finish in the 60m at New Balance Nationals Indoor.

But at least in Georgia, the outdoor season holds more weight, so the improvement Rossum made will have to carry over in 2019.

And one meet in, she looks to be headed upward. While she finished second in the finals of the 100m -- Jazmine Hobson won the event -- Rossum raced well with times of 11.91 seconds and 12.04.

Those times will have to get better, but history shows that Rossum is headed toward a marked improvement.
