6. Elijah Berry In The 400 (And 800)

Berry is a talent to watch this outdoor season. The Shiloh High School senior is coming into his own, and that was evidence at the Gwinnett County Track and Field Meet, where he logged a state-leading and career best 47.85 in the 400m. That effort currently ranks No. 16 in the country, too.
But Berry is more than just a quarter-miler. He doubled at the Gwinnett-led meet, putting down a season-best 1:55.53 in the 800m -- which was another top 50 performance nationally.
That was Berry's first stop under 48 seconds in the 400m, and seventh march under 1:56 for the half-mile. Chances are, this Georgia-native develops even more this outdoor season.
