Threats To Win: Katelyn Tuohy (NY), Victoria Starcher (WV), Marlee Starliper (PA), Taryn Parks (PA)
Analysis: If Katelyn Tuohy ends up running in the mile, we will see a great race between her and Pennsylvania's Marlee Starliper. Tuohy currently has the US No. 1 time in the event with her 4:39.15 from the Millrose Games Trials, but Starliper isn't far behind with a 4:41.66 mile. From the sounds of Tuohy's interview with MileSplit New York after the New York State Indoor Championships, Tuohy will be focusing on the relays with her team and the 2-mile which should leave the door open for Starliper to try and claim her first national title.
Starliper could see a battle from the US No. 3-ranked Victoria Starcher. Starcher clocked a 4:45.14 in the elite field at the Camel City Elite Invitational back on Feb. 2. Other potential athletes who could pull off the win are Pennsylvania's Taryn Parks and Isabelle Goldstein. The duo are ranked US No. 4 with a 4:46.34 and US No. 6 with a 4:49.20, respectively.
