Analysis: The mission, and it is the sole mission here, is to make it to the finals. Only eight spots are available, so that makes this race that much more compelling. While the nation's No. 1 (Lang), No. 2 (Williams), No. 3 (Moore), No. 4 (Jackson) and No. 5 (Santos) athletes are all in this race, only one can win, and at that point it could be anyone's to take. Who has the best shot?
That question is a loaded one. Having the most physical ability doesn't always warrant you a win on race day. But you have to look at Moore and Williams here. Both athletes make very few mistakes, and if either races perfectly, there's a chance they come up with a truly remarkable time. Lang has run consistently over the course of his indoor season--plus, he owns a head-to-head matchup on Moore--so it would be hard to bet against him. There's a reason he currently ranks No. 1 in the country.
