Austin Kratz ran one of the fastest all-time marks in the 200m last year at the SPIRE Scholastic Showcase in Geneva, Ohio. The now Arizona State University freshmen ran 21.04 for the mark, which tied him as the eighth-fastest performer all-time -- which he has since surpassed.
Kratz's time is a high school facility record and was also the fastest indoor 200m time ever by a Pennsylvania high school athlete until he broke his own record again later in the season running 21.01 at New Balance Nationals Indoor. Brady Gehret of Altoona Area High School had the previous Pennsylvania record of 21.22, which he set in 2010.
